somewhat. most of them are stressed. they've been through a lot, and i don't know how many of them are used to dealing with a crisis the way we've been trained to.
After getting out of the safehouse and swiftly moving into Mr Staβ Tony's really awesome, quiet, safe, science-y apartment (the one he shares with Dr Strange, whom he still hasn't had a face-to-face encounter with yet), it kind of occurred to him one morning: Peter can't just spend all of his time doing small, volunteer jobs when on-call. Especially not when he'd done all of those so-called small volunteer jobs off-the-clock, during nights after school, dressed in spandex and properly equipped with webshooters.
It's a different kind of world here, and maybe he's taken some of the advice he'd been given by others to heart. Well ... plus he kinda needs the money to get his own supplies, and to pay Tony back for whatever he borrows at the lab.
So this afternoon, dressed in the only set of clothes he has (aside from the scrubs which aren't a good idea unless he's planning on working at the hospital full-time), he's wandering around the crowded bits of the city, looking for HELP WANTED signs.
He's never done this before, so it takes him a bit of time to get past the initial 'I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm sorry' feelings and head straight into, 'I have no idea what I'm doing but I'm doing it anyway' territory, and in no time he's feeling a little bolder. And also getting used to the 'no's.
The next place he finds with a sign is selling what looks like gadgets and toys for kids, like a futuristic, cyberpunk-y toystore; there's a little flying spaceship buzzing around in the front window. Actually? It's pretty awesome. But there's a guy already standing a little to the left of the sign, and he definitely looks like he's peering at the sign, and Peter isn't sure he wants to interrupt or move on or ask to make sure he's seeing what he's seeing.
He sidles up anyway ... testing the situation. ]
Uh β are you just. Looking at the cool toys, or whatever?
